Full Details:

Funk Down on the Farm is NC’s first festival dedicated to wild, spontaneous, natural and funky ground to glass food and beverage. Its all about native yeasts and agriculture.  This is our way of saying thank you!  We appreciate all the love from our community, for supporting our journey in natural cider, to the farmers, who allow us to ferment their fruits, and to nature, for showing us the way!  So come on out and celebrate with us!  The festival will also highlight collaborative efforts between local NC farms and food and beverage producers.

Funk Down is all about doing it the old-school way.  Minimal intervention. Wild yeasts. Spontaneous  fermentation. Mixed Cultures.

The festival will feature a variety of styles from sours to farmhouse.

The Nitty Gritty:

Is there an age limit?

All attendees must be at least 21 years old with a valid ID.

Will you run out of anything?

Some producers could kick their kegs before the event ends, but we will do our best to avoid this.

Where and when is it?

Funk Down on the Farm is April 13th @ Botanist & Barrel on Cedar Grove Blueberry Farm.  It will be outside and is rain or shine.  There will be lots of tents and covered areas if it does rain.

The event takes place from 12-4

I’m a vegetarian, will there be food options for me?

Yes!

Whats up with parking?

There is limited parking on the farm.  VIP includes onsite parking in close proximity. If needed, overflow parking will be next door with a complimentary shuttle.

A few do’s and don’ts and items that you can or can’t bring-

Please no pets or children.  Foldout/camping chairs are fine to bring. Bags are permissible but are subject to security inspection upon entry into the festival. No weapons of any kind are permitted.

Please do not bring outside food or open any cans/bottles during the festival.  They will be confiscated, for legal reasons.

This is a food and beverage fest and we want everyone to enjoy themselves, but anyone that’s clearly intoxicated or acting inappropriately will be asked to leave.

We want you to be safe so we strongly encourage attendees to carpool with a designated driver or to use services like Uber, Lyft, or local taxis.

Tickets are non-refundable and subject to applicable taxes and fees, as well as changes. All sales are final!  This is an outdoor event and it is Rain or Shine!

Dandelion Day Community Foraging Project w/ Tastes and Winemaking

🌼Dandelion Day is a foraging project that depends on you! We have gotten so many requests to make dandelion wine, that we figured we better make dandelion wine.

🌼We cant forage that much on our own, so we are asking all of our friends, neighbors and the community to pitch in to celebrate this underappreciated flowering plant.

What we need from you:
🌼Go harvest as many dandelion flowers as you can and bring them to us!

This is your chance to be a part of the old world tradition of making communal wine or village wine. We will release the wine one year later and of course you are invited back to taste the wine, bring more flowers and help the cycle will continue.

🌼As a THANK YOU 🙏 We will be providing complimentary dandelion taster bites, including fried dandelion flowers, dandelion stalk quick pickles and dandelion greens pesto.

We will also have the amazing Cousin Maine Lobster Truck on site all day and the Botanist & Barrel tasting room will be open and giving extra winery/cidery tours, so you can make a nice afternoon out of your visit.

🍷This day will also be the first releases of our new offshoot DEFI WINES. These are zero/zero natural wines and piquettes, so come out and try some natural wine.
